Roof Ladders and Stepovers:
The installation of ladders for use as a primary method of accessing a roof area is a major consideration in the design of a roofs safety system. Often, ladder access is the only way of accessing a roof where maintenance needs to be carried out. This is not ideal as safety can be compromised by footwear, harsh weather conditions such as wind , rain or snow and whether or tools or other equipment need to be brought to the roofs surface. There is also the danger of unauthorised personnel using the ladder. A pivotloc ladder can be used to prevent this. It can also contains a fall arrest track which workers can connect to in order to prevent a fall.
Stepovers are often required where areas of the roof which need to be accessed are blocked off by equipment or services. Instead of creating another access point to a separate part of the building, a stepover can be implemented as the quickest and most convenient option.
