The benefit of mezzanine floors is that they give an opportunity to take advantage of extra space, thus helping to enhance productivity. Equipment, machinery and stock can be stored away conveniently and this can allow for extra stock to be kept on the premises, lessening dispatch times.
Reducing the risk
The inevitable downside of a mezzanine or raised working level is that it introduces a risk in the possibility of a fall. Ensuring that the correct safety measures are in place should considerably reduce this risk. Having a guardrail system in place, along with having safety gates strategically placed throughout the system, will go a long way in protecting workers throughout their daily routine.
Quick and easy to install
The Pallet Safety Gate is a perfect solution for raised working surfaces. Quick and easy to install, the range allows for materials to be easily transported to and from ground level, while ensuring that the void in the guardrail system is filled at all times. The pallet gate range has been cycle tested to guarantee durability, and fully complies with EN14122-3.
Each gate variation in the pallet gate range is counterbalanced and works off a pivot point, meaning that it can be easily operated. We have 4 options available, each specifically designed to suit a different scenario: Standard, Narrow, Tall and Extra Wide.

Retrofitted to existing guardrail
The pallet gate is constructed using aluminium or galvanised fittings. This eliminates the need for welding and ensures that the gate can be constructed with little effort and retrofitted to existing guardrail sections.

Making safety in the workplace a priority
The Health and Safety Authority reported that there were 44 people killed in the workplace in 2016, a 21% reduction from the previous year. This is also the lowest number since 2009. This is a very welcome improvement and shows that safety in the workplace is becoming a priority. Hopefully this trend can be continued with the introduction of necessary safety measures in the future.
