Rope Access & Abseiling Rope Access is the technique of using ropes in combination with other devices for getting to and from the place of work and for work positioning. Where work platforms are not practical, roe access techniques are an accepted alternative for light maintenance and cleaning work on high or restricted access elevations.

Rope Access should be only undertaken by competent and trained industrial rope access operators and all work should be carried out in accordance with the “Guidelines on the use of rope access methods for industrial purposes”. The guidelines have been produced by the Industrial Rope Access Trade Association (IRATA).
