Kee Access® fittings have been developed to help ensure commercial and public buildings are fully accessible to all and meet the National Disability Authority’s best practice recommendations on accessibility.
Smooth, Continuous Handrail
The specially created fittings can be used to construct a smooth, continuous handrail which adheres to the NDA's guidelines for a Disability Handrail System. Fittings can be powder coated to any RAL colour to provide a visual contrast that is not cold to touch or for aesthetic reasons. A disability handrail should be powder-coated to fully meet NDA requirements.
Galvanised Cast Iron Fittings
Kee Access® fittings are made of galvanised cast iron to BS EN 1461 and offer a versatile solution for the construction of guardrails, handrails or balustrades, providing the perfect option for ground based applications, such as steps or ramps.

Disability Handrail- How is it different?
So how is a Kee Access handrail different from a Kee Klamp handrail?
The Kee Access range contains fittings which are designed to connect the tubing while maintaining a flush edge with the tube at all times. In doing so, it creates a smooth uninterrupted finish, allowing a hand to pass right along from beginning to end, which breaks or terminations. This can make a big difference to somebody with a disability, whether they are physically or visually impaired. As many will depend on the rail, it needs to be comfortable and continuous right along its surface.
Characteristics of a Disabled Access Handrail
-Should be continuous, with no breaks
-There should be a closed ending at each end in order to alert that the rail is about to be terminated. Example: D-return
-The handrail should also be terminated in a way that reduces the risk of clothing getting caught
-All rails should be powder-coated so as to ensure that they are not cold to the touch and to also increase visability
