Fall Arrest & Fall Prevention Cable Systems
Fall prevention systems allow safe access to roof areas for maintenance and inspections to be carried out by workers. Users of the fall arrest systems wear full body harnesses and attach to the cable / fall arrest system via a lanyard and shuttle device which allows them to walk the full length of the system without having to detach from the system.
KeeLine Roof Cable System
The KeeLine horizontal cable system provides safe access to the roof surface by allowing workers or other personnel to be attached to the cable at all times, providing free movement. It contains inline shock absorbers in order to minimise loads which would be applied to the building in the event of a fall.
KeeLine has been fully tested for use on a wide range of roof types, including membrane, metal profile or standing seam and is fully compliant with current EN 795:2012 regulations. It is designed to ensure that the worker can move around corners and glide over brackets, without the need to ever detach from the system.

Maintenance and recertification
It is recommended that these systems are maintained and recertified on an annual basis. For further information on getting your equipment certified, please click below:
PPE
Of course, having the correct fall prevention system in place is only the first step. The correct PPE needs to be used and all personnel who are required to use the system should be trained up to ensure that they apply the equipment correctly. In the case of Fall Arrest, a rescue plan needs to be in place to get the victim back to a safe location as soon as possible.
Fall Arrest v Fall Restraint

Fall Restraint put simply will allow users get to the edge but wont allow them fall over.

Fall Arrest systems on the other hand, will let you fall over the edge but will stop you hitting the ground.
